So many times I feel the need to drive for hours to get to a perfect location for making photographs.  Saturday I took a look closer to home for fall images.

I went to a spot in Charlotte where there are numerous ginkgo trees.  Years ago, I took a picture of my brother and his wife among these gorgeous trees.  The leaves, at the time, were golden both on the trees and on the ground.  Although the colors were nowhere nearly as spectacular Saturday as that year, I did find plenty to photograph.  It was so peaceful standing among these beautiful trees as I watched the leaves being escorted to the ground by intermittent gusts of wind.

On my way back to the car, I spotted my favorite shot of the day.  The curves in this composition are what caught my attention.

Even closer to the car, I found a third image.  Leaves were being blown across the parking lot in a shopping plaza.  Watching carefully to avoid being run over, I photographed these leaves that were been blown against the curb.

I also traveled to a garden close to my house to see what I could discover there.

Spending a morning among the trees and leaves was the perfect way to begin my weekend.  I hope you will spend time exploring the beauty in your area this weekend, as well!
